State Police say they stopped her vehicle on I-87 in the Town of Greenburgh for a vehicle and traffic violation on at around 9:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7.
Troopers then conducted a license check of the driver, Dominique H. Murphy of the Bronx, and determined that she did not have a valid license. As police continued to interview Murphy, she fled the scene in her vehicle, police said.
Police followed Murphy’s vehicle for approximately seven miles, but the pursuit was terminated when it reached the Bronx County line. Police then patrolled to Murphy’s home residence, where she was located and taken into custody.
Murphy was transported to the state police barracks in Tarrytown and charged with the following:
- Third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor
- Second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, a Class A misdemeanor
- Reckless driving, an unclassified misdemeanor
- Vehicle and traffic violations
Murphy was given appearance tickets and released. She is scheduled to appear at the Town of Greenburgh Court on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
